Editing an API Key

How to edit an API key in ShiftControl for Org and User API keys.

Overview

Quickly and easily edit API keys for your organization and individual users, enabling you to update their details, permissions, and expiry dates.

Editing an API Key

To edit an API key, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to API Key Management: Click on the Cog at the top of the dashboard, go to the API Keys section under either the Org Settings or User Settings, depending on the type of API key you want to edit.
2. Select the API Key: Find the API key you want to edit from the list and click the Edit button next to it.
3. Update the Details: In the form that appears, update the details for the API key, including its name, purpose, permissions, and expiry date.
4. Save the Changes: Click the Save button to apply the changes to the API key.

You can't change the expiry date of a key that is set to expire to never expire, but you can change the expiry of a key that currently never expires to a a specific expiry time.

Be cautious when editing Org API keys as they have full administrative rights.
