The Google Workspace integration allows you to connect your Google Workspace account to ShiftControl, enabling the collection of OAuth audit logs. This integration helps you understand shadow IT within your organization and provides valuable insights through the App Discovery section of ShiftControl.

How It Works​

ShiftControl connects to Google Workspace using OAuth authentication, establishing a secure connection that allows for the collection of audit logs. Once connected, ShiftControl retrieves information about OAuth authorizations and third-party applications accessing your Google Workspace.

The integration regularly collects this data to ensure that your App Discovery dashboard in ShiftControl accurately reflects the current state of application usage within your organization.

Getting Started​

Navigate to Integrations

Go to the Integrations section in your ShiftControl dashboard

Find Google Workspace Integration

Locate the Google Workspace integration in the list of available integrations

Add Authorization

Click on "Add Authorization" to begin the OAuth connection process

Authorize ShiftControl

You'll be redirected to Google's authorization page where you'll need to:

  • Sign in with a Google Workspace administrator account
  • Review the requested permissions
  • Grant access to ShiftControl

Complete Setup

After authorization, you'll be redirected back to ShiftControl where you'll see a confirmation message

Access App Discovery

Once the integration is set up, you can access the App Discovery section in ShiftControl to view insights about OAuth applications in your organization
